For Ireland's registered foresters

Every forestry application, run from one place.

ForesterHQ is a forestry-smart assistant for your DAFM paperwork. It builds your maps to standard, fills the forms from your data, checks the constraints, and tracks every deadline — across all your clients. You review and submit.

It does the paperwork — you stay the forester, and submit through iForis yourself.

In plain terms

Think of it as a project manager for your forestry paperwork — one that actually knows the DAFM schemes. So it does the work, not just the reminders.

Every felling licence, afforestation grant, road or scheme you handle for a client lives in one place. ForesterHQ knows what each application needs, prepares it, and keeps the whole thing on track — so nothing gets re-typed, missed, or left to the last minute. And you can just tell it what you want, in plain words, for the map or the forms.

Maps

To standard, in minutes

Boundary in, DAFM-spec map out — species, setbacks and biodiversity areas drawn and checked. Not hours of fiddly GIS and a week's wait.

Applications

Filled from your data

Felling licences, afforestation Forms 1–3, roads and schemes — the form, the harvest plan and the ten-year felling table, prepared for you.

Nothing missed

Every deadline, every client

Application status, approval expiry and grant-claim dates — tracked across your whole book. Never lose track of where an application sits again.

The map, done to spec

The map — automated.

Getting each application map right to DAFM standard is slow, fiddly, specialist work. ForesterHQ does the mechanical part from your decisions — and shows you every constraint to check.

  1. Import or draw your site boundary — any format, reprojected to ITM.
  2. It overlays the DAFM constraint layers — designated sites, watercourses, land cover.
  3. It draws the setbacks and exclusion zones, and computes gross, net and ABE areas.
  4. You place the biodiversity areas and species layout — the judgement stays yours.
  5. Export the DAFM-spec map (PDF + shapefile) and a constraint report to review.
Try the toggles on the map above — the setback and biodiversity layers are drawn and measured for you. You design the scheme; it does the GIS.

AI, built in

Just say what you want.

Type or speak plain instructions — for the map or the forms — and ForesterHQ does the actual work. No hunting through GIS menus, no staring at a blank form.

"Exclude the wet corner" "Split the conifer block in two" "Add the archaeology setback" "Draft the harvest plan"
You speak; it carries out the real operation on the real DAFM data, then shows you the result to accept or adjust. It never guesses where the stream is, and never changes anything without you.
Add a 10 m setback along the stream
Drew a 10 m aquatic buffer along the watercourse. 0.4 ha excluded — net area 8.0 ha.
AcceptAdjust
Put a biodiversity strip along the eastern hedge
Added a 12 m ABE along the eastern boundary. ABE now 15% .
AcceptAdjust
Fill the felling table from last year's thinning
Pre-filled the ten-year felling table from the 2027 record — 6 rows for you to review.

What it prepares

Every DAFM application, from one record.

Enter the site once. It flows into every form — and every future application on the same ground.

Highest volume

Felling & thinning

The licence form, the harvest plan, and the ten-year felling table — with the map. The bread-and-butter application, prepared.

Full lifecycle

Afforestation

Forms 1, 1a, 2 and 3 carried forward — so Form 2 is a reconciliation, not a re-entry. Every stage tracked from approval to second grant.

Traceability

Provenance register

Reproductive-material certs captured and checked against your approved species — assembled into the Form 2 bundle.

Infrastructure

Forest roads

The road-licence application and its map, to spec, from the same site record.

Existing forest

Woodland Improvement & CCF

Management and transformation grants — the prescription, the map, the supporting docs.

The whole book

Status & deadline ledger

Every application's stage, every approval expiry, every grant-claim date — across all your clients, in one view.

Enter once, reuse forever

One site record, the whole lifecycle.

The boundary, species, areas and provenance you enter for the first application flow into every stage that follows — and into the felling licence you'll file on that ground in twenty years.
